Shame there wasn't any foreground elements in the beach. Amazing sky though. You may want to play with the crop to get rid of some of the beach.

I think it is a good shoot and that you need the beach just to get the location. Donīt crop it is my opinion!

I am staying firm, the beach doesn't add anything. The sky is fantastic, and really draws the eye. As the eye wanders to the bottom of the frame, there is nothing there but uninteresting sand. As I said, an object such as a tattered umbrella or some type of grungy foreground element would really add to the mood. As it is, the foreground just feels empty.

then i am glad that people look at photos in a different way and that it is a free way of expression and to be creative..Some like a photo..some donīt and that is what makes it.

Thanks for your comments!
Actually I have another shot that has less beach and more sky. Taken 1 second later. I thought the beach added an interesting contrast, colorwise. If you want I can post the other one too.

I'd be curious to see it. I wasn't suggest removing the beach entirely, I just think it takes up too much of the frame.

Beautiful sky! What I really love is the colors on the horizon and the water itself. You could try a few things to improve depending on your PS skill levels and software. Mine aren't so great :wink but my thoughts are that the sand is kind of dark and blah. I would add some more pop/contrast to the shot. Slightly warm the colors. Not everyone likes vignetting, but I think it would retain the current composition (which I think is fine), but draw attention to the center of the shot and add a little drama.
