Downloading my own shots..quality issues ?

Guys im going to download a few of my photos from SM to put them in a frame etc with PS.

If i download the original image ...say about 4 or 5 meg photos. Will i lose any noticable quality if i was to then get it printed ?

Do you not still have the originals?

It will work downloading them. SM does another bit of sharpening after upload (if I recall correctly) so the downloaded shots would be different slightly from your original uploaded ones, but they should print just fine.

We don't sharpen, resize, or otherwise touch your pixels in any way on your Originals.

If you download them, they should print as pristine as they would prior to uploading.

well, it's not likely. and don's got everything well sorted in the data centers.

but let's be clear to any n00bs who may be reading this: while smugmug is safe and secure, it's not a *replacement* to good storage management at home - backup, backup, backup.

i use smugmug as my secondary backup, and i'm glad it's there. like the fort knox of image storage!
