For some reason I have issues logging in and out with Smugmug all the time and I can't really figure out what the problem is. I use 3 different browsers and they all have quirks with the login/logout function. Right now I don't even seem to be able to login at all. Is this something other people ever have problems with? My site is http://focused.nl
What I do is really basic: I click "login", enter my details and then it says "You're in!". Then I go to whatever link I am offered or just type my URL straight as it is but at the bottom of the page it just states "login" again, so clearly that didn't work. I wish there was a better handling of the login / logout state.
Cheers, Paul

I've been having the same issues. On Mac and PC hardware using at least 4 different browsers. I know the issues right now with the smugmug are probably causing more issues as I can't see my galleries at all.

Yeah things seem worse right now, but I frequently run into this, also both on Mac and PC, using Camino, Firefox and Safari, but all in subtly different ways. I think it's some Javascript problem but I don't have the energy to debug it..

using Camino
unrelated to your issue but we officially support Firefox, Safari for Macs and Firefox and IE6/7 for Windows and Safari for Windows as well.

Since I really want to use my own URL as much as I can, is it possible to consider having the login stuff work under it as well? What exactly is the problem causing this not to work currently? Maybe I can help thinking along to a solution..

To follow-up on this, I'm still having trouble even when I go through www.smugmug.com to login. What I get after I login there is that I can go to my homepage, but it's listed then as http://focusedphotography.smugmug.com/ which should in fact be http://focused.nl/ as that is my custom domain name that I have under my pro account. Can this be fixed please? I want to see my own domain only and I want people who visit my pages to see the same.
Not only that, but the links on that page are then partially presented as http://focused.nl/ (for my favorite photos) and underneath that my galleries are pointed via http://focusedphotography.smugmug.com/ so this is not consistent behaviour. When I follow the galleries link I'm sometimes also not logged in anymore, but then when I hit the back button and reload and do the same, it does work. A bit frustrating.

I think they have it that all links once into your site are relative so if you started at your nickname it will stick. Your visitors entering with your domain should never see that because the domain will stick.

The thing is that I frequently copy/paste directly from the address bar when I'm working on my site, and having to re-edit the URL every time before I give it out to a (potential) customer isn't really convenient as when I wouldn't have to do that in the first place.

Yelp, do the same, have to change the url when pasting somewhere. But, I
have a bookmark that I click so I'm instantly on the domain.

A bookmark will bring me back to a static part of my site, whilst the problem here is that I'm editing bits and pieces, moving photos around etc., and then all of a sudden I want to just take what I am looking at on the screen into an e-mail or IM. If I'd just click on my bookmark, I'd lose that particular page that I wish to copy.
