Let's hear your opinion on gallery sorting!

The problem: There is no way to control the sort order of a keyword gallery.

The background:

I use keyword galleries to allow parents to easily display galleries of the team they are interested in. I dump all of the keyworded photos into one big gallery for the year, then create a link page using keywords. This way I don't have to sort which photo goes where, and the parents don't have to wade through thousands of shots to find the 100 of the team their kid plays for.

Works great except for one problem. There is no way to control the sort order of a keyword gallery. The default order is latest-to-oldest, so the images of the opening day parade are at the end. Bursts of action shots display backwards. It drives me crazy, and there is a similar issue with the "most recent" gallery function as well.

IMO having no way to sort keyword galleries makes no sense. Just sayin'. :wink

I would love to have control over the sorting of these "galleries" - especially the recent photos since my preference is that they display with the newest first, not last. And of course they display oldest to newest... But control over the order is preferable.

I'm a noob and too busy to really do much more than basic stuff here but I did start doing a Photo A Day deal and for that gallery would like to start with the oldest first.

Guess this isn't a big deal to most folks, but I just had to explain to the sports editor of my local paper that the gallery with my photos that he is considering publishing are in reverse chronological order. Made me feel kinda stupid. :rolleyes

Yes, I know I could have created a new gallery and made a second copy of the photos and then moved them in there so they could be shown correctly. But I had no time, and honestly why should I have to do all that just to display my photos oldest to newest?

It would be great when I am able to arrange my galleries. Now I had to number my galleries so people know what order they have to look at my travel photo's. It's driving me crazy.... :huh
