Being a wedding/portrait photographer, I have several situations that being able to create a list of folder within a Sub Category would be of much help. It goes like this. Let's say I have images for the "Wardlaw" wedding. right now the cliet goes to my website and clicks on "Clients" and once they enter a password they have access to all images. I would like to be able to provide my customers with viewing options from the "Wardlaw" link that looks like this:

Gallery = Wardlaw
folder 1 = All Wardlaw images
folder 2 = Bride images
folder 3 = Groom
folder 4 = Ceremony

This way, the client is able to pick and choose certain moments of the event.

Also, is there a way for my clients to create a folder that saves images for them to come back to? I know they can add them to their cart by clicking on buy photo, but it would be a great help if they could add them to a "Favorites" folder as they are looking at all the images.

Thanks,

Jeff Mayo

Yes, it is possible to do set up this gallery structure, but it's a bit of work:

1) Create a category (or sub-category) for the wedding
2) Create separate galleries within this category for each of the sub-sections of the wedding.
3) For galleries that span multiple sub-sections, such as "folder 1 = All Wardlaw images", and possible "folder 5 = All photos of the bride", add a suitable keyword to all of the relevant photos
4) Create gallery redirects (http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=47386) within the category, to add to these keyword pages
5) Apply this technique (http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=80776) to the keyword pages, to make them look more like normal gallery pages

Unfortunately, I don't believe that it is possible for your clients to set up a "favourites" folder. (Unless you give them a trial smugmug account, set them up as a "friend" to your account, and give them permission to add keywords to your photos.)
