Isn't it always this way? I get a great opportunity to capture a Great Egret nice and close and the lighting conditions right outside the envelop! Oh how I'd like to reshoot these an hour earlier in the day! Pentax K20D, DA*300/f4, 1/180s, f4 ISO 800, with flash and Better Beamer. All taken with monopod. The fuzzy one (first one) is artistically my favorite.

That really is a suprb spot to photograph. I don't know enough about the machics of a camera body to tell what exactly to do but that grass gets really harsh looking and draws a lot of attention.
Meanwhile, that water is just magic.
I don't know if it's the lens or if there's a setting amiss here. It seems like something is off?

Hey cmorgan,

You are everywhere!

I've only had the K20D camera about 2 months and the camera presets are considerably different than the K10D. I checked the metadata. Sharpness was -1 (I don't know why), everything else was 0.

I know that my pp is a bit too , but look at the original. To my eye, that's what color marsh grass is in evening light.

Hey man, the only thing I know about marshes is that Marshwiggles are very pessimistic. :rofl I am everywhere. I have no work at my job. Which is not something I'm not real comfortable with... :uhoh
You can almost here the cries from the tiny crab "oh no!"

I like the images Brad. It is difficult sometimes when the background is so dynamic and close to the subject. No matter how I try, asking nicely, everything ..... I can't get the birds to be considerate and move a bit! :rofl
