Greetings Everyone,
I'm new at this forum so nice to meet everyone... I'm considered to be a beginner photographer.... photography in fact is one of my favorite hobbies and I would like to get feedback on my best shots to continue improving and learning from you (which obviouslly are the experts)
Below is my first upload... is a Boeing Take-off at the Juan Santamaria Intl. Airport in San Jose, Costa Rica during a sunset photo session... looking to hear some feedback and tips for further shots.... It was edited using Photoshop also...

Welcome to dgrin!
Nice photo. I like the silhouette of the airplane. Maybe knock a tad off the
exposure so the sun wasn't quite as bright. You could do a but of that in post
if you were so inclined.

Nice capture! I wish the plane was a bit more to the right (so it wouldn't be so darned centered), but that's a relatively minor complaint.
Oh, and welcome to the forum!

I appreciate the comments, thank you very much....
It's interesting... one of the things I noticed after taken the picture was that you don't really know for sure if the airplane is coming or leaving.... at least that is my impression....

The hint is the gear looks like it's retracting. Normally, the gear won't be
retracted until there's no more runway to land on. But for landing, it would be
down well before reaching the runway.

Very nice shot! Next time, wait for two things. One, for the plane to completely leave the sun -- notice how the left wing intrudes a bit into the sun. Secondly, wait for the landing gear to be completly up. :)

You know what.. I must confess that my big mistake on this picture is that I deleted the whole sequence of the airplane take off... there was a picture exactly as the one you're describing and when I filtered the photos I considered that this one was the best.... so my lesson on this one is to NEVER delete the original photos... :dunno:dunno:dunno

Yep, hard drive space is cheaper and easier to get than a shot you've blown away. If all else fails, you can grab a cheap hard drive just to dump your "junk" photos on. You may never go back to look at them, but it makes for a cheap insurance policy.
