Hello,

I've just starting dabbeling in wedding photography. Currently, I am not offering prints or a photo book, just giving them a CD of the images. (I know some people think this is wrong!)

So I toying with the idea of offering a photo book, like the nice ones. (not the shutterfly type) How do you go about doing this? Do you let them choose their photos or choose for them? How many do you choose? What company do you use?

I offer a cheaper book like the shutterfly type - though MPIX makes mine. Then for nicer albums I use Art Leather. Their albums are superb. I have used other companies over the years, but have been most satisfied with the quality of the albums from Art Leather. I use their sreelf-mount flush albums. They are 8x8, and I design them all for my clients based on what they want. I personalize them to meet their needs. The books end up costing me around $130 a piece, and I charge $500 or give them free with the more expensive wedding packages. Art leather has some software that makes designing them easy, though I still prefer to do mine with photoshop. You can carry Art Leather albums if you call them and get an account setup.
