To say this yellow-crowned night heron was not impressed with the noise of my shutter would be an understatement.

Nice shots.. it looks like he was sound asleep in the first photo. The 2nd one looks like me when the alarm goes off.. like.. where am I..:rofl

I like the "eyes closed" image. Not sure I have seen one do this (at least when I was within camera range) Love the detail -- down on the bill, etc. :thumb

I really appreciate the comments everyone. Thanks.

This guy was deep in the mangroves, perched about two feet off the water. I think the last thing it expected to see/hear was an idiot with a noisy camera.
