Is it where you work or where you live? You lucky dog, you. Good thing you are not a gator, smile.

Beautiful bird. Why do I walk so far, sweat rivers, etc. and am lucky to get half of that.

ginger (great shot, why are you not posting daily? or are you? gotta go)

Ginger, It's where I live. I'm in a very rural part of Central Florida that is surrounded by beautiful swamps and wetlands. This was shot in a natural bird rookery and I prefer to get close rather than use long lenses. Not that I don't own a couple. Thanks for your nice comments! The same day that I got this shot, I actually caught a "couple" of the same Heron family mating. I was lucky enough to capture a few frames but, man was it quick! :D No, I don't post everyday. Haven't felt the need to, but I should post more often. Maybe I will... On another note, this particular rookery is also heavily populated with Gators. They wait around for some little birdy to fall out of the nest or, I have seen them spring out of the water and snatch the larger birds right out of the trees! That is some adrenaline rush!

I haven't seen any of these in CA either. Must be exclusive to FLA and the Gulf Coast....lol

If you see these guys everyday, how come you haven't graced us with more pics? :wink J/K We appreciate any that you have time to share with us :clap

Thanks for posting this one,
Steve

I have enjoyed looking at all the images here and reading posts. I really haven't felt the need to post everyday. But, I should post more often. I will make an effort to do that. Glad you like the like shot, it's a bit blown out but, still not too bad...
