The Tiger, the Giraffe and the Laurikeet

A few shots I got while the family and I were at the Riverbank Zoo in Columbia, SC.

This guy would not cooperate at all. He would just pace back and forth...I think with Spring in the air he had only one thought on his mind (only he didn't have a woman with him).

Here's one I got of a sweet Giraffe. They were very close as we were able to feed them. I kept switching lenses for different shots, but here I still had my 75-300 on. So he's the giraffe with a very short neck, lol. Had to burn the background because it was full of people and very distracting. http://kimballphotography.smugmug.com/photos/17989044-L.jpg

And last but not least is this cutie of a bird. This is a Laurikeet(sp?) and we could go in and feed them nectar. Very friendly birds that didn't mind getting up close and personal. Oh man, would I love to shoot one of those Lorikeets? Gus posted some of them a few weeks ago. I couldn't believe how friendly and colorful they are. Although, I believe he also posted a wav file of the racket they make........lol

Still, they are so colorful, IMO, they can make all the noise they want :rofl

Yeah, the tiger was very miffed and lonely:cry. I so wanted him to do something special, rofl...oh well. The giraffes were great!! All were very friendly, of course it could have just been the food. No ribs though so maybe not, lolol :rofl.
The Laurikeets(sp?) were a hit! Yes, they are very noisy..but cool nonetheless. Beautiful colors, would land on your head/hand, basically where ever they wanted :huh . We did a good job of staying away from bomb droppers :rofl.

Thanks for the reply bfjr! Yeah, my SO felt very sorry for the Tiger. Then I pointed out the tortoises who were very much in loff. It was great though, my daughter thought they were playing leap frog :D :D .
