Okay let me be the first to say that 14 is EWWWWWWWW! :roflYou captured some beautiful shots of that eye. It almost looks like it is make of crystal before darkening up to that rich brown, almost amber, color they have as adults!

Great! Every single one of them. :clap

Junior will be airborne real soon...kind of sad.

I sure hope you are able to catch the first flight...I know that's improbable...but I think you have it coming.

HI Stephen, I couldn't resist the poop shot. I think he was aiming at me..:rofl

I was surprised at the eye color too. What surprised me even more is the eye color of eagles.. Baby eagles eyes are almost pure black and then change over the years as they get their white feathers and yellow beak to the golden color that is so beautiful.

Hi Ric, I hope I can catch it too. I think I have a little time left since all his fuzz isn't off the head and other areas but he is preening constantly to get ready.
He hasn't ventured from the nest to the couple big branches right next to it but he is leaning off the nest giving it a lot of thought.. he just doesn't have the courage yet. He will probably hit the big branches first then take flight.

I've been going out about every other morning so I hope I can catch it.
I missed the baby owl, it and mom are gone. Most of the other birds have left for the summer too, so I am just about to start shooting ducks again..:cry :cry :cry :cry

Thanks for following the threads and for all the great comments.

Those are terrific shots. Even without your text, I think they told a great story of the young bird starting to make his way in the world. Superb!

Thanks for sharing,
Lauren
