Feed the birds.....

Hello All,
After a tough morning over at the beach, Andy and I met up with Ian at the Baylands, Friday afternoon. It was pretty funny. It was raining on and off, so we'd spend 10 minutes shooting and slogging through the mud, and then spend 15 minutes in the car trying to stay dry. Then we'd repeat....lol

Andy wanted to try something different, even though there were lots of egrets and herons around. So he got one of the rolls left from lunch (Friday morning will be covered with a post in sports) and started doing his bird trainer act :lol

He wanted to feed the smaller birds not the big guys like the ducks, pigeons and gulls. He lured a few red-winged black birds close enough to take the bread out of his fingers.

In between downpours we did manage to get some decent egret and heron shots.

The light was pretty bad. It varied between overcast and dusk levels :dunno
Fortunately, we had a vehicle to wait out the rain. So we stayed dry, for the most part. Unlike the poor birds :uhoh

We were there a couple of hours and maybe got an hour's worth of shooting in. All that waiting in the car made us ravenous, so we had to adjourn to the local cantina for cervezas and mexican food :eat :slurp :eat


The day started off pretty bad, but as usual, ended up delightfully :thumb

Looks like it was a beautiful shooting day, despite the weather and light and such...

More importantly, you surely had great company, that's what matters! :D

IMHO the two last shots are great: they're beautifully exposed, sharp... And the very last one is quite funny! :):

Yep, like they say "The worst day of shooting is better than the best day at work" :): This was far from my worst day....lol You are correct. The great company made for a super day :clap :clap Andy and Ian are a ball to shoot with (cept they attract so much attention with those big WHITE lenses :lol )

Thanks for the comments on the shots. I didn't do much post processing on the first 2 :dunno They look pretty flat. Oh well.....lol I did feel sorry for those birds. Thye had nowhere to go to get out of the rain :uhoh

Well, actually Andy was sharing my food :rofl I had packed up my leftovers (Andy seldom has any :rolleyes ) and took the three sourdough rolls that were left. I gave Andy one of the rolls to do his bird act. So I guess you still haven't seen Andy sharing his food......LOL
