I had the good fortune to visit Switzerland last week, and despite a spot of poor weather, managed to take over 300 photos. Here are two that I have processed so far:

1. Tree & Mountain (Near Lake Thun)

2. Tree in Mist (Lauterbrunnen)

Both nice shots Kevin.

I am not sure that I wouldn't crop the top off the first one and make it horizontal. I dont think the extra sky adds much. IMHO

OK, I'll give the cropping a go and see what turns up. Thanks, as always, for the suggestions.

The second shot is very interesting as well. Though I think it could use some
horizon correction (which is a weird comment given it's on the side of a hill).

Ian,

Funny that you mention it, but I think the same thing each time I look at the picture. Would you happen to know how I can determine whether the horizon is level using PS Elements?

Thanks for the input,
Kevin K.

You could use the grid lines to help line things up. In CS, it's "View->Show->Grid".

Hope that helps.

I like them both. I guess the trees in that second one could be a little more vertical, but I love the shot.

I'm going on a trip in a couple of weeks. I hope to get some good shots too. Everyone here gives me great inspiration. My husband keeps warning me that I can't spend all of my time taking pictures while on the trip. Sometimes I should just relax and enjoy. Hehehe not me.
