I have a Canon HV20. I usually pull video from it with Ulead VideoStudio 11 because I get a nice MPG file that Adobe can use. I started with Vista's Movie Maker, which I like, but it only lets me import into the media center dvr-ms format which is a pain...
Anyway, I'm editing with Premiere CS3 and having a really hard time getting my audio to playback once I upload to smugmug. The video looks great, but I get no audio. Strangely, the audio plays fine using Windows Media Player on both XP and Vista machines - so it's definitely exporting with sound...it's just not making it through smug's conversion process.
I generally just export to Adobe Media Enconder and choose windows media (WMV) using HDTV 1080p 24 High Quality preset.
I've tried a couple options on the audio - I originally used the default which is using the media player 10 pro encoding at 440kbps @ 96KHz and when that didn't work I backed off to 192kbps @ 44KHz and that didn't work either.
My interim is to convert that WMV file that Premiere exports to a divx mpg using DIVX Author 1.5 and then upload. That seems to work fine (although Author 1.5 saves in a .divx format that I have to simply change the file extension to .mpg, but it works fine).
Anyone have any other ideas or care to share your output workflow with a Premiere newb???
Thanks in advance!!
