Video Editing Software Recommendation?

I hope I'm posting in the right section...

What's your recommendation for the ideal video editing software? I'm using Canon HG10 and I need a software to convert to friendlier file as well as resizing... Thanks.

Adobe Premier Pro (http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/)

Mac:
Final Cut Pro (http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/finalcutpro/)

FCP blows APP out of the water. But if your on a PC. You don't really have an option to run FCP. There are rumors about it going cross platform, but I'm not up on current events enough to now if it's a valid rumor or not.
