Nice series Phil. :D They are the best to practice on where I am. There's always a bunch around, and they'll usually set for a couple of shots if you want to try something different.

Good shots Phil and interesting question.
Think in most cases it does matter if the eyes are in focus simply because we are pre-programmed to look at the head and eyes from birth. Obviously it depends on what you are taking a photo of though. Bit hard to get the eyes in focus if you are taking a shot of the butt.

Hi Phil, I prefer the shots where the eyes are in focus.
Easier said than done sometimes, especially when your doing extreme Macro.
You really got those eyes sharp in the first and last shots :thumb
You ask does it really matter about the eyes not being in Focus,
personally I'd say yes, looking at the four you posted the two in the middle don't have the same impact as the two that have the eyes beautifully in focus and the body out of focus...... the point of interest in bugs is usually the head.
You did Good Phil :clap .... Skippy :D

thanks brian and skippy, points taken. i usually like to see the photo cells showing in the eyes . we see many photos where you dont see that detail in the eyes.
