I was just reminded by my sister that I already asked about this a few weeks ago...oops, I totally forgot.

At any rate, she has a "Power" account and won't be upgrading to "Pro" for awhile (it's gotten pricey for some people). But we still need to get her traffic redirected to her new SM site, which is looking sweet now thanks to all the customization we've done.

I just want to confirm before we mess up anything with her domain registrar. So...a cname record is not an option for her? We need to go with url forwarding, is that right?

She realizes the address bar view will probably change and that is unfortunate but acceptable for now.

Her site: http://instantreplays.smugmug.com (old site is http://instantreplays.net)

Per the SmugMug release notes dated April 25th - at http://blogs.smugmug.com/release-notes/ - power accounts can now use custom URLs. Which means that your sister should be able to use a CNAME and her custom URL would then "stick".

If you need the instructions on setting this up, see [url]http://www.smugmug.com/help/professional-accounts (http://instantreplays.net)).

That's great news, Denise. Thank you. :thumb

Problem now is my sister registered her domain through a company called Melbourne IT (as in Australia). I don't know why. But anyway, on their domain management page there is no mention of DNS or CNAME records so I can't figure out how to do it.

I sent an email to their support people, hopefully they'll write back and explain.
