This is my first post, and I am very new to shooting with a Digital SLR. I have only been taking pics for about a year with my new camera. Please feel free to provide any thoughts on these.

Welcome to Dgrin.
You have a good start, focus and exposure looks good.
What I would do different:
1 & 5 need to show the faces.
1,2 & 4 would look better in portrait, shot or cropped vertical.
3 & 4 shoot tight, crop tighter.
Just my opinion.

I think these are great. Got some great moments captured. They are technically excellent. Nice work! Keep sharing your great photos!

Sometimes it hard to get all three elements into one picture, but face, ball and action will help make your pics more exciting.

Also, try to get down on their level. I think you have done that already in a few of the pics.

Good job so far. Keep on shooting.

I agree - what shutter speed were you using on these?

All were taken using aperture priority @ f/2.0-2.8 at a shutter speed of 1/1200 to 1/2000 any suggestions would be great.
