I am not primarily a wedding photographer, but I am putting together a wedding photography contract for the two weddings I am shooting this year. I need a small paragraph that effectively says something legal-like that covers that I am not responsible if while doing photos the bride gets grass stains on her dress, rips it climbing the tree, the groomsmen have to pay for drycleaning for sitting in mud etc.

What do people use in their contracts to cover themselves for these sort of situations?

cheers

Mike

I hadn't thought of those, I had standard language about loss of photos, etc. I got samples from a google search which found a wedding site with about 15 example contracts for wedding photographers. I only used the parts I liked, then I modified mine further to meet my needs.

Yeah thats essentially what I did. But someone pointed out to me that the mother in law to be was furious at a wedding when the photographer had the bride lean against a wall and got brick or terracotta dust on the dress and it was stained bad. given the amount of exterior images, that has to happen...
