Mini Challenge #2 -Birds [not in flight ] just looking good
This challenge will close on Sunday , May 25th at midnight.
Any post that has a date of May 26th is ineligible.
At some time on the 27th, I'll post the winner in a new thread titled: <<< MINI CHALLENGE # 2 Winner >>>
This mini challenge is about the capture of birds sitting ,eating .any thing you get them doing [less bifs we just did that ] everyone can get these shots . I was going to pick a theme but as it was pointed out to me ,the other challenge does these to the max and wildlife is left out .So this is my passion and I hope you find it fun --post your shots and win the chance the change the theme . GOOD LUCK and lets keep davev challenge going
~~~~~
*RULES*
1. Have fun sharing and seeing what others share!
2. The host supplies a topic and you post 1-3 images. The host judges the winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd) and is not eligible to enter.
The 1st place winner then chooses the next topic, judges the winner and passes on the baton to the new champion.
3. Any photo you’ve taken is eligible, regardless of when taken or camera used.
4. Any amount of post-processing is allowed. However, it is helpful if you list your camera and lens along with your photo.
You may comment on other contestant's images. If you want someone to leave you some criticism, put an asterisk (*) next to the title of the image.
Guidelines:
1. When posting your picture in this thread, change the Subject of your post to display your picture title.
2. Either embed your image in the thread or, if you must, supply a link to it. Keep in mind, however, most people don't want to click to open photos hosted elsewhere (i.e. on your website).
3. Also try and resize your photos prior to posting so they're sized appropriately for viewing without having to scroll (~800 pixels on the longest side works best.)
* The winner has up to three days (72 hours) to begin a new mini-challenge, or the honor goes to the #2 finisher and so forth.
* Enter 1-3 photos and put them in a single post.
* Please remove any photos from previous posts.
I don't normally take many bird photos, and these likely won't compare well to many from the experienced birders out there, but a couple from a bird sanctuary in a park that I visited when in China last summer:
... Because I'd gone to the bottom of our garden to try out some mods to a macro flash bracket - and presumably thought I'd reveal something tasty in my search for suitable insect life to photograph.
Ended up getting so used (and close) to me, that I had to lean back in order to get all in the frame.
Don't have any decent long lenses, so birds are generally out (more interested in macro, anyway) anyway - nothing partic special pic wise - but an enjoyable experience at the time :)
20D + 100mm macro + 550ex - only width cropped slightly, not height.
Hi Hack,
welcome and nice birds!
Just one comment to make sure you are being best served here at Dgrin - the photo challenges are all about fresh shots with a specific theme in mind (this time around it's "moving forward"). If you're just looking to share bird photos, we have a very healthy wildlife shots forum, here (http://www.dgrin.com/forumdisplay.php?f=22).
Whew, I got nervous for a sec. I had to go back up and read the original post to be sure I didn't screw up and post in the wrong forum LOL. Anyway, thanks for the welcome and for the nice comments about my photos, jwear and DoctorIt. :)
