did you use extract filter to get around the hair or select color range or...?
Either way great job and the BG works

I stared out using those tools but they began to select too much becasue it was not shot a true high key so i ended up using the eracer tool for most of it with my wacom tablet. it took about 4 hours if i remember right.

Respect! WOW. I would have never thought you replaced the background!! :oogle

Erasing all the space between the hair .... man .... that would have taken me definitely longer than 4h!!

Eraser?

I'm no guru but I would think if that type of route were the way you were going that a mask would be easier.
Still the end result is very impressive.

wow that is amazing! I love how you changed the color of light hitting his face, goes with the window in the new background. Makes me respect the photo even more after seeing what you did!

D the shadowman wanted me to show you this photo. It is another photoshop of mine. I posted it recently you may have seen it in that post. but here it is again. I had fun cutting her out and splicing 5 different backgrounds together for this shot. beleivie it or not manipulating the pole was probably the easiest part.
