today I am proud of what I captured!!! Anybody who has ever tried to capture an image of the monkey knows how difficult it is to get the eyes and good exposure!

My standard "Open Wide " Shot also!

I love the first one. I tried it with a little highlight/shadows tweaking (8). Try it and see what you think. It may just be my monitor. Really great looking shot. It is so hard with animals that have black & white fur or feathers. Great job.

you can find the colobus monkey at the entrance to the "Congo". Let me tell you that it is very difficult to capture good pics of this monkey, they rarely make eye contact and their white is always blown out - i used -2/3 EC.

These are the shots I aspire to get this summer . Your Zoo shots are fantastic and I wonder if you could share your secret to timing when the animals you shoot are so active?
I know many of us in the the great white north are looking forward to going to the zoo in the spring /summer /fall and could probably benefit from your experience. If you have posted this(zoo tips) before please give me a link to it.
At any rate I enjoy seeing your posts here and your contribution to this forum is quite impressive.
Cheers

Hit Troy,
Your right... exposing a subject that's black & white is difficult. Great job! Love the expression in the first portrait.

No matter how difficult taking a picture of those monkeys might be, you did *great* here!
The exposure is really good and you really got some nice sharp pictures here. I'm impressed! :):
Thanks so much for sharing!
Take care!
