Ok, so I shot this weekend at the race track and I was overwhelmed with the amount of interest from the riders. There was no way I could sort through pics and get all of their images into individual folders, do a quick photoshop on them and then burn to CD in a timely fashion. The new camera makes it so Photoshop usage is really minimized, but sorting the pics takes forever.

Is there any applications out there that would make this faster?

You still have to sort the images (ie; no software will do that for you). You
might look into breezebrowser or something like that for thumbnails/quick
viewing.

I usually use thumbnail views to do my sorting (I shoot RAW + small jpeg).
But then I usually don't have any sort of time pressure either.

Can you elaborate on what you're trying to accomplish? Is it to get images
sorted and distributed on the day of the event?

I wish I had a really good answer for you. But to get exposure and composition
down in-camera makes the process even easier. But still, no getting around the
sorting part :D

Are there any folks that do event day stuff here?

If you are using a Mac, maybe CocoViewX (http://www.stalkingwolf.net/software/cocoviewx/) will help sort. I just wrote a review of it: http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=10498

also for the mac, GraphicConverter has a browse mod which works well for this. On the PC I just use Nikon view with it's tag feature.
