Not a California poppy – poppy picture

[Osprey]

Nice but maybe a little tighter crop removing soome of the upper right background. It seems almost 50% of the pic now??

Pretty image. The bright sidelight and shallow depth of field give it an pleasant, romantic quality. I could see this on the front of a Mother's Day card.

I think the crop works fine. My eye appreciates all that dark space to counterbalance the bright yellow mass on the left. If it were my image, though, I might try emphasizing some of the violet undertones in that dark space ever so slightly in post-processing so that it doesn't come off as too neutral or dull. I think the yellow would pop even more if it had its complementary color to vibrate against.
