Problems with accented characters

In some of my galleries, I have captions and keywords that contain accents (mostly o umlat right now). These characters seem to work fine in the captions, but not in the keywords. If I edit the keywords, the characters appear. Otherwise, the character is simply skipped. So, instead of "schönbrunn palace" in my keywords (and my top keywords list), I have "schnbrunn palace". I would prefer to keep the proper keywords in place. But, right now, those keywords would do little to help in finding these photos. Any suggestions on what I can do about this? Will accents in keywords ever be supported?

We'd like them to be supported in keywords, but can't right now since keywords become parts of urls.

I don't have a timeline of if/when we'll make it happen.

So, for now, the best thing to do would be to remove the accented characters and replace them with the unaccented one? As much as I'd like to see extended character support in keywords, I can see that it would be a lower priority than many other new features.
