i'm looking to go pro with my photography. i already have a pro level smugmug account. I'd like to register my own domain name.

Ideally, I'd like to have full html customization to my main domain. i.e. I'd like my www.mydomain.com (http://www.mydomain.com) to be a custom flash site

Then I'd like to have images.mydomain.com point to my smugmug galleries. Is this possible?

Do I have to do any thing special with my DNS registration? Do I need to pay for the images.mydomain.com separately from www.mydomain.com (http://www.mydomain.com) ?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome! Yes, you set up a CNAME, http://photos.yourdomain.com or whatever you like.

Instructions, and help, here: http://www.smugmug.com/help/professional-accounts

Holler if we can be of service :D

You should not need to pay extra for the subdomain of images off of your regular domain. That is what the CNAME records allow you to do. You can create many different links to different sites using subdomains.

Let me know if you need help. :ear

i have successfully set up the CNAME record for my website www.mjrphoto.com.au thanks to all the helpful info on here...

but when i click on Galleries or any other tabs, it then redirects me to the smugmug address. I figure there's an easy fix. Any help?
