Are Hits Figures Accurate?

It's possible that someone was watching a slideshow and just let it run for a long time.. Either that or you've got a lot of family and friends! :wink

If I link to a smugmug image from a forum, does each 'read' of my thread count as a hit? This could explain the huge viewing numbers on some of my 'small' images

This could explain the huge viewing numbers on some of my 'small' images Yes - every time the image is loaded, either from an external link or an internal page-view it counts a "hit". Now (as stated in the help file), if *I* read that same message (in which you've linked to an image) a number of times, it would likely only count as 1 hit since my browser will cache it (unless I have that turned off). It would be nice if the stats could differentiate between actual gallery views and linked-views but there are other features I'd rather see first.. ;)
