Haven't posted in a few days any images of Maggie (B&G Macaw) or Henry (Cockatoo). Maggies feathers are starting to grow back, but I'm afraid Henrys a lost cause (feather wise) he is a character :D
Caught this pose today while practicing manual control, thought I'd share:

Our Quaker parrot has developed into a picker. Not even a year old and she has a bad habit. You can see her skin, front of the neck. We talked to an expert, and its odd for them to start so young, but there's really not much you can do other than to make sure they don't mutilate themselve's. I know males can pick really bad during mating season.

Beautiful birds.

I love cockatoos. They have a very funny personality. Its almost as if the want you laughing at them all the time. Is he a screacher ? They are so loud.

How did he lose his feathers .. oily seeds ? Too much sunflower seed will do it to them.

Sorry to hear that, unfortunately not uncommon in parrots. And there are as many remedy as there are parrots with the symptoms. My Cockatoo came to me as a feather picker many years ago (he was quite bad) has gotten better over the years, actually comes and goes. My Macaw is not a feather picker it's just Henry likes to pick on her feathers as well as his own.
One thing you might try especially with a young bird as yours is to give her plenty of stuff to chew always keep her real busy doing that. :D This has worked some for me and others I know. :thumb
