Creature Indent

I found this little fellow in the front yard this morning. Quick little guy. The best I can figure
it is a young Woodland Vole. About 3" long, short tail. I thought it might be
a baby bunny but it ran around, didn't hop.

Anyone have any idea what it is?

Steve I googled chinchillas but the ears are too big.

And he only bit my finger once. After about a dozen shots I
found I could stick the camera in his face. Had to be young,
he wasn't afraid.
