Reminds me of that old 70's cartoon/t shirt ... Two Vultures on a branch talking "Patience!... My Ass, I'm gonna kill something":lol4

Ed, I think your bird is gorgeous (wonder why god gave him a red head). I took this photo night before last, nothing goes unused, it is all for a purpose, in nature and in my photo files.
This is my gift to you and your bird! Take it in good health, how you end up.........be careful. I think it was just hit by a car, was by the side of the rd by the birds, made me so mad. Now it can serve as nature intended.

Thanks folks, I know how hard these birds are to appreciate, But I really like the way they look.
And Ginger, That's a good question about the color of their heads, it must be out there on the net someplace, if I find out I'll post it here.

Ginger I'm sure that bird would have loved your gift. :D
The only thing I could find about the colored head for the vulture is that it lacks feathers and that is the color of their skin. The reason stated for them not having feathers was that it prevents any feathers on the head from getting fouled by the carrion that they eat. Head feathers are very difficult to clean.

Nice one Ed :thumb :thumb
Geeze, I guess it would be hard to clean head feathers, but eagles and hawks seem to do OK :dunno Although, they usually prefer live kill to carrion. Anyhow, IMO, that redhead makes him somewhat attractive.
Thanks for sharing,

Great shot ed, it reminds me of a comic where these two vultures are sitting on a branch and there are a couple of animals and a guy crawling on their hands and knee's through the desert and one vulture says to the other "f_ _ _ patience Larry, I'm killin' somethin" :rofl :rofl :rofl
hoping this message finds you well -Ian
ps. I hope I haven't offended anyone with the dashes, but the joke just isn't that funny if you substitute that word for a lesser one. If I have crossed the line, please let me know and you'll never see it again.
