Killer shots Dave!

The B&G seem to look very cool and easy to get on with. I'm sure that can be a day & night difference in how you shoot and allows you to be more creative as well.

Holy Amazing Shooting location!!!! :bow

With a location like that I am sure the Bride and Groom got tired long before the two of you did. Great out of the norm stuff- I am sure they will be excited. :clap :thumb

Great job.

Thanks, it just so happens I have one that is "traditional" for the B&G. I simply like stretching out with processing. Thanks for the comment! :D

Dave these are all amazing! I like them oh - so - much!

One thing that popped out at me was the beauty of the clouds! They are stunning and in the one where her veil is being blown, mirrors them so beautifully.

But truly, each one is a winner! What a wedding for the portfolio.

Great job. No... no... INCREDIBLE JOB! (Did they pay you enough? :wink )

OK - you've had a load of "These are wonderful" comments and they are - no question. Yes, the photos are very good, but I think that's less than 1/2 the equation.

What I find very interesting (and Kudos to you guys for this) is the different styles of photography I see here. Some are very romantic, some very formal, some very environmental - just a wonderful demonstration of a fantastic breadth of expertise/vision. The photos demonstrate that you are not just a guy with a camera who knows a little bit. You have that something that allows you stand out from the rest as a professional photographer!:bow

:agree There are a few shots here that I wouldn't mind hanging on my wall, even though it's not my wedding and I don't know the people. Something about that surprises me. Impressive. :thumb

On your profile, it says your equipment is an XTi with the 18-55mm kit lens. Did you shoot those pictures with that stuff?

Those look far too good to be taken with a kit lens.

Heh, nope.....I haven't updated that profile....LOL. Actually though I got some great shots last week at the studio with the kit lens. By the way, the 40D was acting up on me (battery grip connection) and pulled out the Xti and that is the camera these were shot with..no joke. Don't underestimate the usefulness of that camera....it's just not a 40D, 5D or a MarkIII.

Thanks for the kind words.

Scott, what a wonderful thing to say....thank you. My desire has always been to use what's been given to me..to touch other lives....I burn for that....the passion for this craft is off the charts (which drives friends & family crazy...LOL). Thank you!

Richard....now what size prints would you like? Framed or unframed?....Just Kidding :D Thank you for the complement! Glad you like em.

Thank you so very much Heather. Does anyone pay enough?...LOL. There's so much time as you know that goes into weddings most clients aren't aware of. Continuing education, equipment, planning, etc. consumes more hours than we can count. But...when its all said and done...worth every penny :D

Here's just 2 more:

First off, the photographs are all well executed, and I will reiterate that you did a great job on variety.

Secondly, you are absolutely right about the XTi. It is still my sole camera, and while it has its shortcomings.....once you are aware of them it is an easy workaround. I am working towards a 30D or 40D, but am not at all sorry for purchasing the XTi.

These photos illustrate that the photographer....more than the gear...can make or break the results.

Again, excellent photos!!!:clap

Waht do you consider the shortcomings of the xti, and what are the work arounds? (i have an xti)

The two things I wish for are.....spot metering, and a higher maximum shutter speed. Working in daylight at wide apertures I have been limited a couple times by the 1/4000 speed limit. Other than that.....it's a camera and works.:D ....and it is definately a bargain these days!!!

Where there any difficulties with shooting in the Minnesota Capital (permits, etc)? I've got a wedding at the St. Paul Cathedral soon and the couple is looking for a close-by 'secondary' place simply for doing some photographs...

Thanks for the kind words Jeff. Yes, the Xti works well. The focusing on the 40D is by far superior let alone the 1/3rd incremental changes one can do in ISO settings. I also love the highlight tone priority as it seriously helps from blowing out whites. Thanks for stopping by :lust

These are amazing. Let me ask you about one: Elegant (by Grimace, processed by mua)

Did you do anything to set up this lighting, or did you just find a spot and thought, this would work.

Was there a lot of post in this?

Incredible series Dave!
Adam and I were talking in DC about the shoot you guys did as I was heading off to do a wedding myself (for fun though). We got to talking about how many gigs he shot and I was awed. Now I see how you racked up so many shots - what a wealth of incredible locations. And amazing captures.
Well done!

There was a spot I had in mind and loved the lighting there. Grimaces shot was a zoomed in shot while others I took wide...glad we covered it from both focal lengths....LOL. His shot (Elegant) took a bit of processing as I saw the potential there and thought it would set the mood perfectly..which it did. Here's one of mine at the same time at a wider focal length. I purposely added some extra saturation for the mood:

Heheh, thanks. Yea, Adam shot lots too. I've put some of his in the gallery for the B&G as well. It was delightful having him. He got some real nice stuff too. The B&G are very happy. I'm almost done with them (working on the formals now) for their DVD. I didn't want to post any of Adam's as they are his work but couldn't pass up the Elegant shot...prolly one of my top 5 faves of the day!

Thanks for the nice comment!
