What REACH you have! Nice series for a rainy day! What lens did you use?

Thanks, Trish. I used the 300L with Canon 1.4 extender. That is the most reach I have. I was wishing for more.

I had the ISO on 1600, had to, it was grey enough and late enough that cars returning home had their lights on. So I had to run everything through Noise Ninja.

Then I saw Harry's pictures that are so bright and clear. (and colorful)

I also liked the one Harry pointed out. Very nice :clap :clap Looks like tough lighting, not to mention those darn limbs and branches trying to fool your AF.
If you can chronicle the birth and raising of the chicks that will be awesome. I'll be looking forward to seeing the next part of this story :):

Thanks so much, you all, for stopping and commenting so nicely. I am glad to know where he hangs out, when he is not at the nest. I was sitting in my car, quite literally, when he landed directly across from me, across a busy road to the Isle of Palms. I was as close as I could get, so I stayed in the car.
(reminded myself of Harry there, the difference being that I was still not very close)

The female was crouched down in her nest, she may have eggs for all I know. I noticed someone up by her taking photos, having gotten out of his car. The real photos were where I was, but I was not about to ruin my chances by running to that other person and informing him.

The male, in the photo you all like, he was concerned about the man taking photos of the nest, so he kept looking over there. I hope he continues his pattern of crossing the street at times. And of course he totally disappears, too. I was there a long time.

I have noticed what appears to me to be a real relationship between these, and other birds.
