Sorry if again this question is in the wrong place... I try...
For the first time a Gallery wants to display and sell my photos. Never done this before. I would love to deal with Fotoflot but the Gallery does not want them with the mounting system, maybe will offer it a an option however.
Has anyone had good experience with another outfit that prints with no border and mounts on boards to sell/display?
Ant help will be appreciated. The Gallery represents many painters and no photographers so they don't know themselves a good outfit...

All I can offer you is to tell you what I've done when faced with a similar situation.

I've had large images printed and vacuum mounted onto either foam core (if the images were going to be framed and not be moved around a lot) or onto gator board (firmer but also costlier). This is a service that a local photo printing lab should be able to handle. This work can also be handled by a high end reprographics shop (who usually cater to architects and advertising folks more than photographers.) I like to have my images printed on a large format laser (other folks prefer some of the high end inkjets) onto archival photo paper (Fuji) and I let the shop mount the images for me. I've gotten better pricing from the reprographics shops, and they use the same equipment as some of the local labs (I like the Durst Lambda). Call local outfits in your area or the nearest major city and describe waht you want, and let them know what you want this for - from your description the printing and mounting that you need is fairly common, they should be able to describe to you how they can accomplish your objectives and for how much. Make sure they understand that you are expecting longevity out of the images.

As for the mounting board, I've opted for gatorboard when it was for a gallery. Since you won't be framing the work you might want to look at how the mounting board edges look and see what you prefer.

Love your web site, and your trip. I took 9 weeks once, and rode my Harley across the USA, and visited every place I could.

Now as to printing, and mounting. You could try MPIX, on line. I think they will mount the prints on a Coda stand out, but if they don't want a Fotofloat, I don't think they are going to want a Coda mount, or Gator foam.

Most galleries I have seen want the images with a white window mount, and want your to frame it, or they will frame it with a simple black frame.

You might ask the gallery for some advice.

Your shots might do well framed with white matte/black boarder kind of
thing. I think finding the combination requires some thought for each shot
you want to frame though.

I do some similar printing for tradeshows at work. We have use reprographic houses for this (look under blueprint) and have had better results and cost then using a photo lab. Of course, your mileage may vary, but hopefully it will have lots of smiles.
