Trish asked when I suggested that we meet at the Wetlands at 7:00 AM. Since sunset has been before 7 for all of this month I knew I was talking about a time of day that she wasn't all that well acquainted with. When she arrived 20 minutes late I wasn't surprised.

Anyhow we had a fine time talking photography stuff and we ran into the President of the Orlando Photography Club. He was shooting with a Nikon and had the 600mm/f4 lens with him. Trish being a spoilsport rejected my proposal that we mug him.

I managed to get a few shots in (only about 300 or so).

the eagle was kind enough to appear

when the eagle left he was replaced by a fluffy Osprey

my BIF for the day, a Wood Stork

Then we saw some Black Necked Stilts. These are the biggest pain in the butt bird I've had to shoot so far. They are small, hyperactive, and they are very black and very white. Eeech! This was the best I could do

I have to process my Baylands pictures and post them here for everyone to chuckle over! But I had some small hyperactive birds too, of course since I'm lens challenged they look like little specs on the water :D

Harry,

You booger! Great set of shots! Mine were dumped...I saved a few but I only got one decent shot...probably because I did entertain the idea of mugging this guy for his lens...and I wanted him to have a nice shot of himself shooting it for the last time:rofl

Thanks again and I will probably touch base w/u tomorrow to pick up my lens..if you haven't sold it by now...:wxwax

Here is the shot I sent to Ken...he liked it and was happy to have met us...if he only knew what we were planning...:D

Yeah that one was my favorite too. Its nice when the bird gives you some cooperation. That darn eagle just sat there looking noble and not doing anything.

I don't know which bird shot I like best. Least, I like the eagle, he is not blown, but his eye looks light to me.

I love the BIF. The pink legged thing is cute.........and you probably were too, as you chased him around.

After seeing my Ospreys, I think I pick yours as my favorite shot. I said to myself, "what has that bird been doing?". My first thought would have put him in the sin challenge.
I think Sid is right about him drying off. He looks better wet than dry, I think.

Trish, I went thru a week or so of sleeping later, opened my eyes one morning at 7AM and was shocked to see the sun was not only up, it looked like noon.

So much for seeing the sunrise at a decent hour!

I love the shot Harry stole of yours. How did you manage to get the whole big bird into one of those little openings at the end of the lenses?
That was a feat right there.

Did you take photos of Harry? We want to see photos of the two of you at 7 in the AM chasing pink legged birds around.

Harry? Did you take photos of Trish?

Sounds like you two had fun.

Ginger,

Harry forgets I was at work and busy before 7 and that is why I had no idea what time the sun came up. Fortunately for me..I decided I don't like to work and would much rather play...so after the summer I may entertain going back for a little while..

Harry better never take a photo of me at 7am..never a pretty sight! I could have taken a picture of him but...new camera and all...didn't want to risk it:D

Hey Trish,

Gosh that lens is beautiful. I want it!!!

You got more than one good shot, heck you posted 3 good ones already. Don't forget that the lighting on most of our shots sucked. Those dang birds managed to hang out just in the right spots so that they were all backlit.

Hey Ginger,

Thanks. You are right about the osprey. He had just grabbed a fish from the water and was starting to chow down.
