I've been working on a Mac uploader for a while. I've hit the wall on a few items like album changes and templates but the basic form is there. The feedback on the uploads is still a problem but I'm working on that. I haven't made much progress lately but I thought maybe some feedback would be good. You can pick up the beta here:

It's a beta that expires at the end of April. I'm sure there are bugs and bad behavior so look out. Suggestions welcomed.

It opened on mine, DUSB white 12" iBook 500Mhz, 640MB, running 10.3.8 *Server* with DTools, and a LOT of extra perl modules etc installed, maybe you need something else. It was a little slow to open, I didn't do anything with it yet though, busy with other things, will test more later when I need to upload.

I've used it once already. PowerBook g4, 15", 10.3.7. It basically worked fine and I liked it better. It did have some issues when printing the file name currently being uploaded.
A few cosmetic fixes and I think it will work well.

Just to be clear, you mean when you try to launch it nothing seems to happen. No crash warning or crash long, right ?
Do you know if any other java apps have problems on your Mac ? My PB is similar to yours. The java side of it makes it slow to launch.

I double click the icon. It zooms up, the dock seems to move slightly to allow room for the app in the dock, but then it goes back and nothing happens.
I know nothing about Java apps. How would I recognize one? Activity Monitor?

Still hoping to try out your work of art....
and a question (one of those pain in the butt questions from some ignoramus who knows nothing of what is involved in developing software):
Wouldn't it be cool if the Mac Uploader was a Widget (http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/dashboard/)?

Apple recently broke Java with one of their security updates. It has created a headache for us, as it broke the uploader (and every other java app basically). If you run Software Update again there should be a Java patch waiting for you that will fix the problems.

Great. Except the file linked expired at the end of April.

I second this motion, it would be very cool. I am testing out some new widgets and they look to be addictive.

I haven't upgraded to Tiger yet, but what benefit would there be to the uploader being a widget? I have no experience with them to know what I would like about them. Time to hit the Apple store...

It would make it a little easier and quicker to upload, not a huge difference, but cool and easy.
I started a new thread, here, (http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?p=100674#post100674) to talk about widgets that users like.
