This is a scan of a print I took in the 70's. as you can see there are vertical black lines which are in the print. I have tried to cut the sky out and replace it which helps but the boat has too many details. Is there any advice on removing these? Thanks

Roger

You might want to try posting this at retouchpro.com/forums

There are a lot of helpful folks who specialize in retouching.

Good luck.

I am actually surprised no mod has moved it to Finishing School here. That is the place folks who retouch hang out.

Too many details or not, Roger, I think you will have to do some time consuming tight hand selecting and deleting to get something even near decent. Do you have the original slide/negative to get a scan from? Perhaps a better scan or re-photographing the picture with your digital camera might result in better material to work with. I played around with it for 30 or so minutes and came up with this, which still leaves much to be desired.
