Opinion on CC shot

I've shot alot of CC and track in my day, but never had anything like this. My wife doesn't like how close and cropped in it is, but for some reason, I sorta like it. It's also not tack sharp, but passable. What do some of you guys think? Is this worthy of being in my portfolio, or should I junk it?

Not even close to a portfolio photo. Its out of focus & poorly cropped with terrible light. I personally find it odd that you have even asked the question about putting it in your portfolio its such a bad photo in my view.

Sorry but you have asked a serious question & its pointless me bullshitting to you about my feeling towards it.

It might mean something to the runner, but I wouldn't put it in the portfolio. It's a keeper shot for remembering the moment, but I wouldn't want this on my official portfolio. I'm with you trying to get experimental or keeping the odd picture, but it's not a show off pic.

Junk it for sure...severely out of focus and also the rule on cropping is never crop at joints the joints.....

Thanks for the input. I know I'm a little partial to this shot because I coached this girl to the state cross country meet, so I can't help but to be a little biased. I do recognize the photo's limitations, so even though I hold a personal fondness for it, I understand that it really shouldn't be a shot I'd want to "show off".
