I just received a new (to me) Sigma zoom and 2x converter and wanted to play. This is through my office window of a quail block that I use to attract critters. I think I may have PP'd it too much...

Hi. Shooting through the window it turned out pretty darn good. The squirrel (and detail) is very good, the block looks a bit saturated but not knowing what color it really is it might be okay. You could always pull the color of the block down with a mask if you are using Photoshop.

Thanks. Yes, and it is even a dirty, double pane, tinted window no less.... and... 400mm hand held.... doing my best to get everything wrong!:D

PP was quick Picasa stuff. I've been playing w/ GIMP and PSE6, but haven't taken the time to learn much. I agree, the corn is loud. I just tried turning it down some, but didn't help much. I think it's a case of trying to polish a turd, no matter what, it's still going to be a turd. I'm waitning for some more goodies.... tripod, ballhead, etc. So I can get a little more serious.

Thanks,

John

Very nice detail especially given that you attached a 2X TC. Congrats on the new lens.

Thanks! Here's another of the first few snaps with the new toy, an antelope squirrel:

(Unfortunately, the window faces east, so I'm stuck with bad light no matter what.)
