New to the forums here for the most part and wanted to post my first good shots with my new 70-200mm F4L which I'm officially in love with after these shots. Any tips/comments are welcome as I'm new to the hobby.

Strong work Jeremy:thumb
These are quite good, especially for first postings. In fact I'd be pretty happy with these now almost 4 years after my first post here...
And if by mentor you mean "person who tries to convince someone to buy more camera gear" then yes that's me. Otherwise, you've been picking this up pretty fast on your own.
Hope its the first post of many.

Thanks for the kind comments. During development I felt like I had to make a tradeoff. These little birds have such cute micro-features, and I had enough detail to crop much more and still keep a perfect shot. Cropping in would show off the detail of their features, however, the crop would make the composition much more boring.
I guess I just cropped in until the point where I'd lose composition quality, although I know I could have shown off the spectacular detail of the bird better by cropping a tad more.
