Not very easy but the 300mm f/4.0 wasn't bad. But now I want longer glass.

I may be wrong, but it looks more like a Turkey Buzzard, to me. :scratch No expert, though. Nice shot, otherwise.

I think it's a turkey vulture. Regardless, you can get some reach with a 1.4 TC.
That might be the easiest way to get the reach without too big an investment.

Turkey vulture it is then. I will always defer to you guys. My next try is for a red tail hawk that hangs out by work....

Want to have some fun with Vultures? They don't fly early in the morning. I quess the thermals take time to form. Find out were they hang out and in the AM you can get very close. They are funny the way they hop along the ground chasing each other, they are so clumsy.
I go to Myakka River State park here in Florida, and there are literaly hundreds there in the early AM. I can get with 10-15 feet on any given day.

The vultures also hang out in Morro Bay State Park. How do I know this?
