What's wrong with this Kodak?

Hi folks,
I'm trying to troubleshoot my sister's Kodak Easyshare C533 P&S. The camera hardware is fine (instant view works, even video and video playback work!) :huh but it seems the firmware is belly up here...

when the camera processes to JPEG they come out all banded. Grrr! Of course, the camera is just over the one year warranty. Ideas on a hard reset, or anything? :scratch

Many thanks! (and why do they never ask me before they purchase these toys? If I'm the one doing the family tech support...did I mention she just bought a Vista machine :rolleyes )

To reset, try removing the batteries and attempt to activate the unit. Let the unit sit overnight without the batteries.

I had found those sites (the Kodak one seems useless when you get in it) but I didn't know about the reset. I'll get on that!
