I used a Flashpoint II 620 Monolight Kit, 300 Watt Second, One Monolight Kit with Stand and Umbrella. Had it only about 6 feet behind the camera.

I am new to studio lighting, and the way I learn is by mistakes....thank goodness for digital !!

Digital definitely makes it easier. Back in the old days when I was doing catalog shots in the studio, I would have to use a Polaroid back on the old 4x5 view camera to check setup and lighting prior to shooting the actual shots on 4x5 Ektachrome. Costly and time consumming.

Bottomline is the end result and yours is stunning to say the least.

Thanks Jeff.....my Sony F828 comes with a fixed Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar T* lens. I am really happy with this camera. I have had it a year this past Jan....even if and when I move to DSLR I will keep it always.

Very nice Michele :thumb :thumb

The lighting and perspective are very nice. Like you mention, looks like a colorful twirling dress :clap Very kewl!!

Good idea to keep the 828, even after you pick up a Dslr. It comes in handy for those "go light" shoots and for macros and IR's too :):

A Bee-you-tiff-full flower capture. Thanks for sharing,
