Here is my first submission to be critiqued, I took it in Shenandoah Nat'l Park, 5 seconds shutter was as long as I could get it. USM in CS3 is all I did in PP.
Thanks for the input.

Nice shot and composition looks fine to me. I would darken the rocks at the top of the falls to get rid of the highlights. I find them distracting. If you darkened the rocks a bit and lightened the falls a bit, too, it would create an interesting contrast and keep the focus on the falls.

Compositionally speaking, I think there is more interest in the reflection of the waterfall below. The rocks on the top are too bright as mentioned above. Consider the rule of thirds:deal it really does help to compose while learning photography, at least until one understands how and when to break that rule. Use the grid in you digital display to help you if you have live view on your camera. If not preview the image with the grid on and look to place the subject, the waterfall in this case, in the center of one a third of the frame.

Also if you want longer mid day shutter times, consider a ND fileter at least 4 stops:wink

Is that a proper blue color cast to the water or too much Tungsten WB?

Are you set on auto WB or daylight?

Lovely little waterfall, though.
