last year, i made up this tutorial on compositing. ( http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=2058&highlight=compositing) well, yesterday i made a shot that was begging for some bifs to round out the scene, so i thought i'd refresh the subject.
so, here's the shot. it's nice, but it needs something!

it helps to have birds on hand. i shot these canadian geese about 20 minutes prior to the rusty building, so the light was very similar. it also helps to have a clear sky for easy separation.
there's no right or wrong, but there is probably "better" and "not so better" :lol3 and this is a technique that i use very sparingly. sometimes i get it right, and i hope you like this composite. i think it works well. yeah, the birds could also be made smaller, but heck, in my mind, the flew right over the shed roof and in my fov the second i snapped the shutter :D like it or don't like it - that's okay... the point is if you've not tried this, you're in for a treat.

and the final product
main scene, canon 20d with canon 24 f/1.4L aboard, f/8 at 1/500th sec.
birds, canon 20d with canon 300 f/2.8L aboard, f/8 at 1/1000th sec.
