Subject is too dark and I don't sense any emotion from the mother. Is she happy? Sad? Impatient? Glowing?

Thank you Bill, for your valid comments.

I see the emotion of silence which she won't have in a few months :D
Seriously...I do see the emotion of silence. A mother to be has many of those with all the changes that are taking place. And the changes to come.
I would lighten the photo a tad...with more light on the belly.

This is one of the coolest takes on this subject I have seen. Usually the photos are too "in your face" so to speak. I think this one is very sophisticated. Nice Job.

Thank you for your comments. I was going for more of a silhouette on this one, but I think I will try and lighten it as you suggested. I wonder if I should try and just lighten around her belly area for more focus...

Thanks! I also took plenty of the "in your face" shots too, so maybe that is why I chose this one out of the group as it really appealed to me.

Not too sure how much of a difference it will look here, but side by side in the gallery it looks pretty different. I lightened the whole image and then also selectively on the belly too.

It does look different then the 1st photo :D
I would leave it the same as this, but darken the tummy again. I know....I said lighten the tummy :scratch The shawl lightened up looks good as you can see the texture of it and a noticeable difference then the first one, but I think maybe the belly is alittle to bright---kinda looks like it has a shine to it next to the white background.
Darker body....lighter shawl. How does that sound? I always say have different versions of a photo.....peoples tastes differ in choosing one that appeals to their eye.
I took a look at your site...:thumb

Okay, I combined the two images to come up with this one - how does it compare?

Hi....
Oh yeah....thats it for me :thumb What do you think?
I see three definite shades of color....white, med. white, and dark which I feel you have blended so well together. As I was just looking at it I noticed the placement of the left hand...missed it before :scratch The thumb open like that leads up to the face and then you follow it down towards the other hand.
Now this is just my opinion...hopefully others will chip in to :D

What I think is that this is why I posted it here. This was my favorite from the sitting and I couldn't see any way to improve on it, but I hoped that others would be able to! Thank you very much for taking the time to work this out with me as I think it resulted in making a pretty good shot into a really cool one! :thumb

Karen...
I'm so glad you are happy with it. It is a good photo -- one that Momma should be happy with and you should be very proud of :D
I did notice to that Momma had some earrings on. I think next time I would not use the earrings. Let the fabric...Momma....and tummy be the only things to see. Then let the light be the enhancer.
I'm really interested in knowing which one Mom likes---let me know if you can :D
