HELP!!!! I got a job taking confirmation portraits!!!

OK, the long awaited moment has arrived. I finally have been asked to do confirmation portraits at Church. (They are actually going to pay me..:)). Here is the task. I will have 40 children receiving confirmation. I will be doing a group shot, then individual portraits inside the cafeteria. I will do this all one hour before church starts.

My question is how do I keep this organized. I have read some threads that state, do a code sheet with picture #1 = Little Johnny, etc. I will do a class picture, then they have 4 packages to choose from: individual w/5 wallet, or 5X7 with 5 wallet, etc.

OK, pictures are done, I am going to edit them then upload to smugmug and get the orders ordered. It seems like the more I think about this, the more concerned I am getting. How do Photographers like you guys keep up with all this and eventually get the "correct" orders back to the children.

Any and all suggestions will be very greatly appreciated.

Use Lightroom.. Figure out a workflow.. I have mine down to a fine art (now), but, it took a few weeks and a few thousand photos to do it.

First you ain't gonna take a group shot, and individual shots of 40 children in one hour. I don't think you could do it if you drugged the little buggers, and put them in chairs on a conveyor belt.

You don't have to worry about who is in what photo. While not all parents actually know what their kid looks like, most do, and by ordering from your Smugmug site that part is taken care of.

Worry about getting great photos.

Sam you just about killed me I laughed so hard. You get to Ottawa you drop me a line, I owe you a drink for that one! :rofl

Sorry bwash, don't have much advice mate, this is why I do landscapes. Best of luck with it and be sure to come back in and tell everyone how you made out.
