Sloth -- "sluggishness of the mind which neglects to begin good... [it] is evil in its effect, if it so oppresses man as to draw him away entirely from good deeds."
I wasn't intentionally going for sloth in any of these, but looking through what I shot today, they struck me as such.

I love this shot, but does it say "quiet reflection" more then sloth? Maybe would be more 'sloth' if she was leaning back, and less alert in stance. Or, maybe I'm over thinking it. :scratch

This seems to fit a bit more of the deffination.

Please be harsh :D! This is my first attempt in a challange here, I never think of trying to shoot a certian thing, when I shoot, I grab what catches my eye. This challange seems good for my discipline factor, makeing me work harder! Maybe I should go and shoot stuff on purpose? :rofl

The sleeping goat might be kind of slothy, but I think I would keep looking. And who am I to talk.

The other one is a beautiful shot, no sloth there, sorry. Maybe if it weren't so pretty and she ..............no, no way that would be sloth. That if reflection or something, IMO.

The job of interpreting Aquinas seems to have fallen on my unworthy shoulders. If I'd been born then, before Dan Margulis, perhaps I'd have been STA's disciple instead.

OK, the first shot is pretty ambigious, wrt STA's definition. Perhaps she is actually praying? Or comtemplating what good deeds to begin? But she might be engaged in sloth. No real way to know from the shot.

The second shot is clearly not sloth. The goat is:

Not a man (or woman, STA clearly meant to include both, but exclude goats) and
Not really capapble of good deads anyway. In fact, better for him to be asleep like this since he can't cause any trouble in this state.

What I am finding in this challange is:

I can not depict any of the seven - accuratley here, because they would not be proper for this FORUM!! :dunno:huh:scratch:uhoh

I know I voted for this type of challange, but maybe I was wrong :D I'm going keep trying though :):

Pride, envy, sloth, and greed are all completely PG. Anger, well? Gluttony is disgusting sometimes and lust, well you need a light touch.

I hoped for some envy and/or greed at the Apple store. It was there all right, but not so easy to see without analysis. I think street shooting is the way to get started here. Or stage something with models (you need pretty good actors for pride and envy...)

What I should of said, was that IMO to capture an image of one of the seven as sinful (beyond reason) you would have to be visually expilcit!! :uhoh:uhoh

You can most likely capture the seven in a PG manner, but then it's not sinful:dunno

PG is but a rating. The sin comes from the actions and intent ;)
