So I was driving down a country road to go to some soccer fields to see if I was any good at sports photography and I saw this turkey on the side of the road. I kept on going and decided not to take pictures of him. On the way back he was still there in the same spot so I pulled over on the other side of the street and pulled the camera out (I had the 70-200 L F4 already on it) and shot away. I really didnt know turkeys could fly ....:wink

Actually Turkeys can and do fly. They also roost in trees at night.
I like the spread wings in the second shot, it's hard to get good detail in Turkey Vultures.

I didnt think they could fly! Owell! I guess I have watched the WKRP episode where they do the Thanksgiving Turkey drop to many times..:dunno ...That would be sorta wierd walking up on a big ol turkey roosting in a tree!

I just did some light pp in psp and it made the spread wing shot look even better...

Thanks for the response....

There is a reason they are called Turkey Vultures. Here is a real turkey in flight and his destination to roost. There is a resemblence
