View Full Version : my first stab at advertising online

so I started my first online advertising campaign with Google Adwords from my blog, www.pictureyourworldphotography.blogspot.com. The hardest part of the process was only writing four very short lines of copy to describe my business. But I get to set my monthly budget and that determines how many times my ad runs on blogs and other websites. You chose the keywords and the program matches up your ad with the relevant sites. The ad links back to my smugmug business website. So far I've had three potential clients check out on my business...with two of them coming from the keyword "dinner." I don't know how that happened, but I will take it!

I totally got a kick out of seeing my ad not only on someone else's blog but on the Digital Photo School forum which I frequent.

So here is my current ad:

Mundane or Miraculous?
Picture Your World Photography
captures your life moments.
www.picture-yourworld.com

If you only had four lines with a maximum of 30 letters per line, what would your ad say?

I like your slide show, but might want to think about removing the landscape's, or putting them in a group last.

Looks like your emphasis is on people, and event type photography, and I think it would be better to just keep the landscapes in the gallery.

Just my thoughts,

Good Luck, and let us know how it works out.

Hi Sam! I've been thinking about you. It was so great talking to you that day and I really appreciated your help. I think you would be proud of me...I've come such a long way in my photoshop skills and can manipulate layers and quick masks now just the way you explained for my portraits. Thanks again for your time and help!:clap

I do everything, but I specialize in portraiture and events.
